Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Training:
As some of you know, this October I will be offering the same scientifically-informed and internationally acclaimed 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Professional Development that is provided to members of the United Teachers of Dade by Valerie York Zimmerman of Miami Mindfulness, who is also the founder of Mindful Kids Miami. Under Valerie’s mentorship, I am a Teacher-in-Training qualified to train others in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction practices.

This will be a limited offering to only eleven (11) individuals for a one-time price of $150. For the finance-types and accountants out there, this incredible value translates to less than $20 per session. This is true value for lifestyle work that is scientifically proven to be life transformative. This price is only for this first training. My experience with mindfulness practices is extensive and embodied. However, as an “MBSR Teacher-in-Training,” I can offer registrants/participants for this first class a discounted price and the added benefit of retaking the class/training in the future for the same price. (Normally, unless subsidized, as MDCPS does for teachers, the cost for the 8-week MBSR training ranges from $325 to $900).
The sessions will be held at The Yoga Warrior Studio, Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm for eight (8) consecutive weeks. Let me be clear and transparent about an incredibly important item. A firm commitment to dedicate this time to your health, self-care, personal development, and well-being is a requirement for your participation. If you cannot make this commitment, please do not enroll.
A one-hour Orientation will be held the Saturday preceding on September 29th after the morning yoga classes. Between Session #6 and #7, there will be an all-day (6-hour) silent retreat.
Remember, mindfulness practices and tools can significantly mitigate the insidious effects of stress on the mind and body. MBSR is an approach to teaching mindfulness that has been scientifically researched and proven an effective intervention for almost forty (40) years.
